About the firm

An accounting firm that also builds the software.

Pro Accountants is a Fiji-based accounting practice led by a Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent. We do the disciplined compliance and advisory work clients expect of a professional firm — and we build the cloud platforms that make that work measurably better.

Our story

Two practices, one standard.

Pro Accountants was founded to do two things our partners felt the Fiji market needed more of: chartered accounting work held to a clear professional standard, and accounting technology built in Fiji, for Fiji.

We work with owner-led businesses across construction, hospitality, retail, professional services and the not-for-profit sector. Our partners come from senior finance and professional-services backgrounds — the kind of seats where you see what good systems make possible, and what poor systems quietly cost.

That operator’s view is also why we built our own software. After two decades of recommending desktop payroll tools that no longer fit how Fijian businesses actually run, we decided to build the platform we wished existed. TaviPay is the result — cloud payroll and HR, designed around Fijian legislation, used every fortnight by real employers. TaviPos follows the same pattern for retail and hospitality.

Building the platforms hasn’t pulled us away from the practice. If anything, it has sharpened it. Every regulatory edge, every awkward reconciliation, every audit trail question — we’ve had to think about it twice: as accountants, then as the people writing the code.

The firm is independently certified by Business Link Pacific, the Pacific’s advisory-services certification programme backed by DFAT and NZ MFAT. Both partners are listed: Ashwini as a BLP Approved Advisor in Accounting & Financial Management, and Shan as a BLP Certified Advisor across Business Coaching, Financing & Loan Facilitation, and Accounting & Financial Management. What we stand for

Four things we won’t compromise on.

These aren’t aspirations — they’re the lines we hold internally on every engagement, every release, every conversation with a regulator.

Technical precision

FRCS rate tables. FNPF caps. ERA thresholds. Wages Council orders. We treat the legislation as the spec — not a marketing detail.

Plain candour

If a number is wrong, we say so. If a deadline is tight, we say so. If something isn’t our strength, we point you to someone whose it is.

Built in Fiji

No offshore call centres. No outsourced engineering. The person who answers the phone is in the same building as the person writing the code.

Long horizons

Compliance work compounds. Software compounds. Client relationships compound. We are deliberately building something that gets better year by year.

Leadership

The partners.

Pro Accountants is held to a single rule: nothing leaves this office that either partner wouldn’t sign personally.

Ashwini Goundar

Managing Partner · Tax & Compliance
CA (Fiji) · CPA (Australia) · Registered Tax Agent · Masters in Accounting

Ashwini is the Managing Partner of Pro Accountants. She holds three of the most senior professional accounting credentials available in the region simultaneously: full Chartered Accountant status with the Fiji Institute of Accountants, full Certified Practising Accountant status with CPA Australia, and Registered Tax Agent status with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service. Her Masters in Accounting underpins the technical depth she brings to every engagement.

Ashwini personally reviews the firm’s tax filings and signs all FRCS submissions. Where a client needs an opinion on a structuring question, a transactional matter, or a piece of legislation that touches their business, she is the partner on the file.

Shan Ali

Partner · Technology & Advisory
BCOMPA · 25 years of CFO, accounting & bookkeeping experience

Shan leads the firm’s advisory practice, the payroll bureau, and the technology arm — Pro Accountants’ TaviPay and TaviPos cloud platforms. After more than two decades inside Fijian businesses as a financial controller and CFO, he decided to build the systems himself rather than keep recommending tools that didn’t meet the firm’s standard.

If you’re an owner thinking about cash-flow, systems, bank-finance, or how to scale your business without losing control of the operational detail — that’s Shan’s table.

How we work

A firm small enough to know you. Disciplined enough to act like a big one.

A senior partner on every engagement. Documented workpapers. Software built in Fiji that lets the work scale without losing the standard.

Partner-led engagements.

A partner reviews and signs every return, every set of statutory accounts, every advisory memo. No file is delegated and forgotten.

Documented, auditable, repeatable.

Workpapers, reconciliations and review trails are produced by default — not on request. That makes year-end smoother, FRCS reviews calmer, and successor accountants happier.

Software where it earns its place.

We use TaviPay for our own payroll bureau and on every engagement where it fits the client. Where it doesn’t, we’ll say so — the firm is the product, not the software.

A conversation costs nothing.

Whether you’re looking for a Registered Tax Agent, a payroll bureau, a CFO sounding-board, or a software platform that works the way Fijian businesses actually work — let’s talk.
